Mamay Closes 2025 with Landmarks Achievements in Public Service and Entertainment

Vice Mayor Marcos Mamay of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte, closes 2025 with a remarkable collection of achievements—solidifying his impact in both public service and the entertainment world.

On November 26, Mamay was elected Vice President for Operations of the Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines (VMLP) during its 29th National Convention at the Manila Hotel. His selection marks a significant expansion of his role in national governance, reinforcing his commitment to programs that uplift communities and strengthen local leadership across the country.

But Mamay’s accomplishments this year extend far beyond public office.

His biographical film, “Mamay: A Journey to Greatness,” continued to shine in the entertainment industry. Its acclaimed theme song, “Hamon”—composed by Vehnee Saturno, produced by Mamay himself, and performed by Gerald Santos—won Indie Movie Theme Song of the Year at the 41st PMPC Star Awards for Movies. This comes on the heels of the movie’s earlier triumph at the 73rd FAMAS Awards, where it brought home five major awards, including Best Song for “Hamon.”

Adding to his showbiz milestones, Mamay was also named Outstanding Producer and Media Advocate of the Year at the 37th PMPC Star Awards for Movies, a recognition that highlights his growing influence as both a visionary creative producer and a strong supporter of media initiatives.

Looking back on a year filled with milestones, Mamay expressed deep gratitude:

“2025 has been an overwhelming blessing. Mamay was written with the heart of my journey, and seeing it win—while stepping into a new national role—is something I will always be thankful for. Whether in governance or in film, the goal is the same: to inspire, to uplift, and to make a difference.”

He adds, “Stories have power. Good governance has power. When both come together, they can move people toward hope and resilience. I’m proud of what we accomplished this year, and excited for what we can build next.”

Before his national role with the VMLP, Mamay already had a transformative record as a three-term mayor of Nunungan, where he spearheaded major infrastructure projects, advanced peace-building efforts, and successfully elevated the municipality from third-class to first-class—a legacy that continues to define his leadership.

As 2025 comes to a close, Marcos Mamay stands at the crossroads of public service and cinema—two fields that have amplified his voice and broadened his reach. From local governance to national visibility, from storytelling to community empowerment, he ends the year with strong momentum and steps into 2026 with renewed purpose and an even greater commitment to serve.
